Article I – Name
The name of the organization chartered under this constitution shall be the Central Lakes College Psychology Club.

 Article II – Purpose
The purpose of this organization will be to stimulate interest in and to foster the goals of the psychology club, which are:  community service, public education, fellowship, and scholarship.

 Article III – Membership

 Section 1.         Membership shall be open to all Central Lakes College students.

 Section 2.         Membership in this organization will be non-discriminating with regard to race, color, creed, sex, age,   religion, marital status, national origin, or status with regard to public assistance or physical disability.

 Section 3.         Members must adhere to the constitution to retain membership.

 Section 4.         Members must pay their dues as stated in Article IV, Section 1.

 Article IV – Finances

 Section 1.         Each member shall be assessed annual dues, the amount of which shall be set up by the membership at the start of Fall Semester.

 Section 2.         In the event the club should dissolve, all remaining funds shall be donated to the CLC General Fund.

 Article V – Officers

 Section 1.         The officers of this organization shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Their duties being those commonly endowed upon those positions.

 Section 2.         Officers shall be elected by secret ballot at the second to the last meeting of Spring Semester and will assume full duties at the beginning of Fall Semester.

 Section 3.         In the case of a presidential vacancy, the Vice-President will assume that position.  All other vacancies will be elected by the organization.

 Section 4.         Term of each office will be one academic year.

Article VI – Organizational Structure

 Section 1.         Meetings shall be held twice per month.

 Section 2.       All members shall have one vote with a simple majority rule of a quorum of the membership.

Section 3.        The President shall establish committees.

 Article VII – Advisor

 Section 1.         An advisor will be selected from the CLC faculty and staff who will support and participate in the organization’s activities.

Article VIII – Amendments

 Section 1.         This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds membership vote at any meeting.  The proposed amendment must have been submitted to the Secretary for a reading at the previous meeting.
